FINAL UPDATE 6/29/2022 5:00 PM - The Union Fire is 100% contained as of 5:00 PM today. Final size is 110 acres

UPDATE 6/29/2022 7:00 AM - The fire remains 110 acres and 98% contained. Resources patrolling the area today for hot spots. Full containment estimated for later today.

UPDATE 6/28/2022 4:55 PM - The fire is now 98% contained. Resources will remain on scene, continuing work on mop-up in heavy fuels and strengthening containment lines. Next update tomorrow morning. 06/29/2022

UPDATE 06/28/2022 8:00 AM - The Union Fire is now 93% contained. Ground resources continue mop-up of heavy vegetation and are working to strengthen containment lines.

UPDATE 06/27/2022 8:30 AM - The fire remains 110 acres and is now 85% contained. Resources will remain on scene as they work to strengthen containment lines.

UPDATE 06/26/22 8:00 AM - The Evacuation WARNING has been CANCELED. Please use caution when returning to the area.

****UPDATE 06/25/22 10:00 PM - The Evacuation ORDER area has been downgraded to an Evacuation WARNING area. Residents South of Limonite Avenue, North of Riverview Drive, East of Avenue Juan Diaz and West of Maverick Lane are now in a WARNING area. Please use caution and yield to personnel and equipment working in the fire area.

MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER IS IN EFFECT FOR RESIDENTS SOUTH OF LIMONITE AVENUE, NORTH OF RIVERVIEW DRIVE, EAST OF AVENUE JUAN DIAZ AND WEST OF MAVERICK LANE.

A RECEPTION AND CARE CENTER IS OPENED AT PATRIOT HIGH SCHOOL - 4355 CAMINO REAL, JURUPA VALLEY

Current Situation

UPDATE 06/26/22 4:50 PM - The fire is now 65% contained at 110 acres. The next update will be tomorrow (06/27/22) following morning briefing, unless significant fire activity occurs.

UPDATE 06/26/22 8:00 AM - Firefighters made good progress overnight, working to build containment lines and mop up hot spots. The fire is 110 acres and is now 40% contained. The Evacuation WARNING has been CANCELED. Please use caution when returning to the area.

UPDATE 6/26/22 2:15 AM - The fire is unchanged at 110 acres and 0% contained. The Evacuation WARNING remains in place. The next update will occur following morning briefing unless significant fire activity occurs.

UNION FIRE UPDATE 7:45 PM - Aggressive firefighting efforts has stopped the forward spread of the fire and is holding at apprx 110 acres. Evacuation orders remain in place.

UNION FIRE UPDATE 6:05 P.M. The fire is now approximately 95 acres and 0% contained.

UNION FIRE (FORMERLY "CANDLE") - Firefighters are on scene of a widland fire near Indian Camp Rd x Candle Light Dr in the Santa Ana riverbottom in Jurupa Valley. The fire is currently apprx. 80 acres and 0% contained. A MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER in effect for residents South of Limonite Avenue, North of Riverview Drive, East of Avenue Juan Diaz and West of Maverick Lane. A reception and care center is opened at Patriot High School - 4355 Camino Real, Jurupa Valley.
